An open-source input method for macOS

One input.
Every language.

Your thoughts don’t switch modes. Your input method shouldn’t have to, either. Choose your languages once. Let their candidates meet.

macOS 14+ · Free & open source

A small demonstration

Room for both.

An illustrated demo using SI’s example vocabulary. Each word or phrase is committed separately.

With Chinese and English enabled together, typing shi offers Chinese candidates such as 是 and English completions such as ship. The original shi remains available. Then nihao is committed as 你好, followed by world as world, without changing language modes.

Less switching. More writing.

A small idea, a little more flow.

01 /

Languages, together.

Enable English and Simplified Chinese in Settings. SI asks both for candidates as you type, keeping ambiguous matches available.

02 /

Your words stay yours.

Names, code, or something new. Your exact original input is always an explicit option, even when no language matches.

03 /

Local by design.

Candidate processing happens on your Mac. No cloud inference, analytics, or keystroke logging.

For the curious. For the builders.

Say hello to SI.
